Listening to the records of Ez3kiel, a creative band from Tours that has been producing unclassifiable music at the crossroads of post-rock, classical, ambient, and electro for twenty years, is good. But seeing the band live is always better! Because among its members is Yann Nguema, a bassist-graphic designer who simultaneously abandoned the four-string bass to fully dedicate himself to visuals, and recently, the projections of dreamlike images to immerse Ez3kiel in a breathtaking light show during this tour, a live rendition of the aptly named new album *Lux*. Forty-eight square projectors form a wall at the back of the stage, relegating the musicians to the status of shadows. They spew dazzling flashes then move, like the robots they are, to create, through their effects, visions reminiscent of *Close Encounters of the Third Kind*. In the ears, the instrumental, noisy yet melodic electro-prog-rock of the trio creates epic, unsettling, or intimate atmospheres. The eyes, meanwhile, are mesmerized by a whirlwind of light worthy of the most beautiful fireworks. Each piece has its own visual in symbiosis with the music: a bouquet of green and blue rays, a wall of fireflies, a smoky mauve sky crossed by a lighthouse beam, a laser-cut ceiling... So many "sets" that, until the final eruption of "Versus," a ten-year-old track revisited with almost metal power, transform this dialogue between sounds and images into something very much resembling a work of contemporary art.
