New Vinyl Releases This Week: Fresh LPs, Reissues and Limited Editions

Vinyl releases this week, updated around Friday

This page lists new vinyl releases this week across every genre: new albums, reissues and special editions. Since 2015, music has come out on Fridays in most countries, so Friday is when this list turns over the most. You'll find established artists next to debut albums on small labels, from rock and electronic music to hip-hop, jazz and classical. For each record, you can compare offers from several partner stores and pick the edition that suits you.

New releases, reissues and limited editions: how to tell them apart

The same new record often comes in several versions. Standard black vinyl is usually the cheapest and the easiest to find later. Color variants, sometimes exclusive to one store, an artist's own shop or a group of indie record stores, are pressed in limited runs and sell out fast. Reissues bring back an older album, sometimes remastered or expanded with bonus tracks: read the description to see what changed from the original.

Record Store Day in the spring and its Black Friday edition gather special releases sold through independent record stores every year. Album anniversaries, 20, 25 or 30 years on, also bring reissues, often deluxe versions with demos, outtakes or live recordings, and their price and contents vary by edition, which is why comparing offers pays off.

How to compare prices on a new vinyl release

The price of the same record can vary between stores, especially in release week, when some sellers haven't received stock yet. Compare like with like: an exclusive color variant and a black pressing are not the same product. Factor in shipping costs and the stated delivery time. For a standard edition, waiting a few weeks after release often brings more offers; for a limited edition, don't wait too long.

Keeping up with new releases

Check back at the end of each week to see the latest arrivals. For a specific style, the new releases and pre-order pages of each genre, such as rock, hip-hop, jazz, electronic or metal, filter just what you care about. When you like an artist, their page gathers every record of theirs available on vinyl, including reissues of older albums. Pre-orders remain the best way to secure a limited edition before it sells out.

Frequently asked questions

What day do new vinyl records come out?

Friday. Since 2015, the music industry has used Friday as the global release day in most countries. Vinyl follows the same rule, although some stores ship or receive records slightly before or after the official date, depending on their stock.

Why does the vinyl sometimes arrive after the digital release?

Because making a record takes time: cutting, plating, pressing and printing jackets. Pressing plants can be booked up, and delays of a few weeks are common. The album then arrives on streaming first and on vinyl later, sometimes with a new date announced by the label.

Is a limited edition worth more than the standard vinyl?

It often costs a bit more at release, and once sold out, its resale price can climb. But the music is usually the same as on the standard black pressing. If listening is what matters, the standard edition is enough; if you collect the object, reserve the limited edition early.

Where can I find new vinyl releases for one genre?

Each genre has its own new releases and pre-order pages, linked from the genre collections. They show only the records of that style, from recent albums to upcoming ones. You can also follow an artist through their page, which lists all of their records available on vinyl with offers from partner stores.
