A real gem, a musical hypnosis brilliantly orchestrated by Nicolas Jaar's new duo. DARKSIDE is the project of young artist and producer Nicolas Jaar and guitarist Dave Harrington. The duo had only released a three-track EP in December 2011, but that was enough to fill the Trianon in Paris last year! So, we're dealing with a phenomenon here! The DARKSIDE project was born in a Berlin hotel room during one of Nicolas Jaar's tours. The duo continued to work together once back in New York and finally found their sound: a musical identity through psychedelic atmospheric sounds mixed with electronic layers and percussion. A year and a half after the release of their first EP, here is their first album "Psychic," an initiatory journey between minimal electro and rock. The album opens with "Golden Arrow," an 11-minute track that sets the tone, drawing us into the band's dark and majestic universe. "Psychic" builds in intensity with tracks such as "Heart" and the very bluesy "Paper Trail."
