The 10th studio album from the Tucson duo Joey Burns and John Convertino of Calexico return in 2022 with their radiant 10th studio album, El Mirador; a kaleidoscopic and hopeful beacon of rock, bluesy ruminations, and Latin American sounds. Reuniting in Sergio Mendoza's home studio in Tucson, Arizona, the band recorded throughout the summer of 2021, creating one of their most captivating and whimsical productions to date. The duo channeled their memories of Southwestern landscapes and joyful barrio melting pots into an evocative love letter to the desert borders that have nourished them for over 20 years. CALEXICO invites Gaby Moreno and Spanish rocker Jairo Zavala, who brings his touch of bravura to "Cumbia Peninsula." Calexico also highlights the unique social and linguistic intersections at the US-Mexico border and the magnificent possibilities of a world without borders.
