Live In Holland 1964

Description

These recordings give us a glimpse into the often chaotic circumstances surrounding a Beatles concert at this early stage of their career. At the first Dutch concert in Blokker, the broadcaster chose to place their microphones at the front of the stage and the overenthusiastic crowd singing at the top of their lungs almost drowned out the Beatles' voices. When they arrived at Treslong for their television appearance, the band was informed they would have to sing live over a playback track, the only time the group performed in this manner. This record allows us to compare Ringo's drumming style with that of his temporary replacement, Jimmy Nicol. We have done our best with these historical, admittedly poor quality but important recordings.
