20,000 fans attended the Beatles' very first appearance in Canada, at Vancouver's outdoor Empire Stadium. Their set lasted just under half an hour, and they forgot to play "I Want To Hold Your Hand." The concert was broadcast live by local radio station CKWX, but the sound engineer only managed to achieve a good balance from the fourth song onwards – the vocals on the first tracks were far too saturated.
