Shed Seven

Description

Shed Seven returns with their seventh studio album, a self-titled opus that is quite fitting. Arriving after the most glorious periods of their history, Shed Seven follows the remarkable achievement of having two number one albums in the UK in 2024 - a feat matched only by a handful of artists, including the Beatles, Elton John, and Led Zeppelin. More than 30 years after their debut in York, the band is experiencing an unexpected resurgence in popularity and commercial success. Far from looking to the past, Shed Seven is an album resolutely focused on the present. Written and recorded with renewed confidence and determination, it reflects a band that continues to surpass itself while remaining true to the qualities that have earned it such a loyal audience over the years. About the album, singer Rick Witter states: “We are thrilled to announce the imminent release of our seventh studio album, simply titled Shed Seven. We have poured our hearts into making what we consider to be our best album to date, and we hope these songs will touch the hearts of the audience.” The album is preceded by the single Stand Together, which sets the tone for the whole. As Rick explains, it is “a call to action, a rallying cry for a form of unity in today’s world.” For a band that has already had a career that most artists can only dream of, Shed Seven sounds less like a farewell tour than the beginning of a new chapter. Self-titled, ambitious, and full of conviction, this album asserts where Shed Seven is today... and where they are going next.
