During the first week of August 1963, the Beatles were touring Lancashire. They took the opportunity to record, on August 1st, the tracks for episodes 11 and 12 of Pop Go The Beatles, at the BBC studios in the Playhouse Theatre, Hulme (south of Manchester). Broadcast in episode 12, "From Me To You", "I'll Get You", and "Money" are among the highlights of this session. Also recorded that day, a high-octane version of "Twist & Shout" was broadcast in episode 11.
