After the global success of their first album "Le chant des Vikings," SKALD unveils their second album "Vikings Memories." The band once again tells a story, that of the northern peoples and their relationship with nature and the ocean. Interpreted in Old Norse, the ancient language of the northern peoples, the 11 tracks awaken forgotten tales of lost continents now submerged by melting ice - like Doggerland, which once connected Great Britain to Scandinavia - evoke the founding myths of the flood and foretold apocalypses, but also travel alongside the adventurers and sailors who have always navigated the most dangerous waters of the planet. This shared memory is embodied by the extraordinarily warm and powerful voices of Justine Galmiche, whose unique timbre wonderfully complements the guttural and vibrant voice of her companion Pierrick Valence. The whole is enhanced by the finely crafted production of Christophe Voisin-Boisvinet, thanks to an instrumentation that is both ambitious and subtle, where a variety of resonant percussion and skins intertwine with ancient Scandinavian string instruments (nyckelharpa, skaldharpa...).
