Harvestman is nothing other than the psych/folk/ambient project of Steve Von Till, guitarist and singer of the metal band Neurosis. Triptych is a project of folk and mystical songs. At its core, music has always been an inquiry into heritage - a dialogue with predecessors and ancestors, the development of one's own perspective in relation to what has come before, and for some, a dive into the limitless realms that lie between the two. For Steve Von Till, this process has always taken on an additional dimension to become the most sacred of tasks. Whether through the apocalyptic uprising of Neurosis, the sound deconstructions of their brother project, Tribes of Neurot, the intimate invocation of his self-titled solo albums, or his instrumental psychedelic reveries under the name Harvestman, this dialogue has never been solely with musical influences, but with what underlies them: primordial, elemental forces, now banished to the periphery of our contemporary consciousness, but still emitting a signal for all those willing to listen.
