Vikings Chant

Description

Following the success of the first edition of Le chant des Vikings, the group SKÁLD presents an expanded version of their album with two new tracks in Old Norse and three covers of rock standards: The White Stripes, Pink Floyd and The Doors. Through its music, SKÁLD brings back to life the poetry of the ancient skalds who sang in their language - Old Norse - the history of the Viking peoples and gods. With instruments chosen for the occasion (shamanic drums, talharpa, jouhikko...), the singers immerse the listener in a rich and evocative soundscape, and reveal all the richness of Scandinavian culture. Thanks to SKÁLD, you will set off in the company of these explorers of the impossible, to discover unknown territories; you will witness epic battles in the midst of the clamor of axes and swords; you will dance among the Völur - those priestesses who predict the future - before crossing the Bifröst on the back of Odin's horse and inviting yourself to the banquet of the Nordic gods.
