Titled Amour Colère, the second album by Nicolas Michaux is a collection of ten simple and meaningful songs recorded in Samsø (Denmark) during the winter and spring of 2019. It is a tapestry of warm drums, grainy bass lines, and vibrant guitars, all dominated by Michaux's distinctive voice, who plays all the melodic instruments. A songwriter, composer, and producer, the Belgian writes and sings in English and French, consciously standing at the crossroads of different traditions: the golden age of French chanson, American singer-songwriters, 60s English rock, the early hours of new wave, the peak of Ghanaian Highlife... Yet Michaux is guided by a deeply personal and distinctive style and spirit.
