Titled "Amour Colère," Nicolas Michaux's second album is a collection of ten simple yet significant songs recorded in Samsø (Denmark) during the winter and spring of 2019. It's a tapestry of warm drums, gritty basslines, and soulful guitars, over which Michaux’s distinctive voice reigns supreme, with him playing all the melodic instruments. As a Belgian author, composer, and producer, he writes and sings in both English and French, consciously standing at the crossroads of different traditions: the golden age of French chanson, American songwriters, 60s British rock, the early days of new wave, the heyday of Ghanaian Highlife... Yet Michaux is guided by a deeply personal and distinctive style and spirit.
