Swedish artist Jens Lekman is re-releasing his iconic albums, Oh You're So Silent Jens and Night Falls Over Kortedala, on his Secretly Canadian label. For this occasion, they are renamed The Cherry Trees Are Still in Blossom and The Linden Trees Are Still in Blossom, respectively. Crafted with love and meticulous care, each version retains the same number of tracks and the same spirit as the original, while adding new versions – partial or complete – of certain songs. Both records also feature rare and unreleased tracks. These albums are a way to keep the music alive in a new context. According to Jens, preserved music is dead. But it is allowed to change.
