Infinite Fog Records presents an augmented edition of Coil's 2008 album "The New Backwards" - a kind of sister to their absolute classic "The Ape of Naples." The sessions, which included Peter Christopherson, Jhonn Balance, and Drew McDowall, were recorded in London and Trent Reznor's studio in New Orleans. Danny Hyde participated in the production and remixing. This new edition contains nine unreleased and raw tracks from these sessions. "The New Backwards" was conceived by Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson in 2007, revisiting lost tracks that didn't seem to fit the material he chose for the darker "Ape of Naples" from 2005, COIL's first posthumous album, a kind of requiem and farewell kiss to his recently deceased partner John Balance. It gathers the original sessions for the album that began as early as 1993 and was conceptualized as the follow-up to "Love's Secret Domain." Co-composed, remixed, and restructured with the help of long-time friend Danny Hyde in Thailand, this collection has its own unique flow and atmosphere not found on any other COIL album.
