First released as a compilation in 2002, Moon's Milk (in Four Phases) is a suite of four EPs that Coil produced seasonally through their label Eskaton in 1998. The lineup for these sessions consisted of John Balance, Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson, Drew McDowall, and William Breeze. Recorded primarily in their home studio in London, just before a permanent move to the small seaside town of Weston-Super-Mare, this collection has long been regarded as a centerpiece of the band's discography, but it has never been officially released on vinyl. Organized sequentially in homage to the equinoxes and solstices, Moon's Milk captures Coil at a revealing crossroads, delving deeper into improvisation, spontaneity, and sound design. The Dais box set includes the entirety of the rare bonus CD-R Moon's Milk / 2019 Threshold Archives Copal, which features three collaborations with Thighpaulsandra. Once again, Coil confirms the vastness of its bewildering and infinite alchemy. From post-industrial to post-everything, it is art without attachments, in the wildness of its own conception.
