The Kills have just unveiled the release of their fifth and highly anticipated new album. Titled Ash & Ice, it will be released on June 3, 2016, via Domino. To accompany this announcement, the band reveals the video for their new single 'Doing It To Death' directed by Wendy Morgan (Janelle Monae, Laura Mvula) and filmed last month in Los Angeles. Over nearly 15 years of career, the duo has released four albums. Each of them resonates like a feverish, raw, and enigmatic artistic statement, built under tension and anxiety; however, none of these albums sounds like the previous one. It took five years for Ash & Ice to succeed Blood Pressures, a delay mainly due to the five hand surgeries that Jamie Hince underwent, which forced him to relearn how to play guitar with a permanently damaged finger. Unlike previous albums, which were mostly written and recorded at Key Club Studio in Benton Harbor, Michigan, the recording of Ash & Ice mainly took place in a rented house in Los Angeles and then at the famous Electric Lady Studio in NYC. The album is produced by Jamie Hince and co-produced by John O'Mahony (Metric, The Cribs), mixed by Tom Elmhirst (Adele, Arcade Fire, Amy Winehouse) and Tchad Blake (Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys).
