The British-American duo, The Kills, had to confirm their success in 2005 after the critical acclaim of their first album, Keep On Your Mean Side, released in 2003. Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince return with No Wow, a more punk and gritty album, still on the Domino label, home to Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand. The title track is a true exercise in style, full of sensual and electric tension. No Wow begins with a simple dialogue between Jamie Hince's minimal guitar and Alison Mosshart's nonchalant voice. It is the singer who has the privilege of closing the single with an intense finale, repeatedly shouting the title of the song. Initially seen as a band more styled than inspired, fitting well into the early 2000s rock movement, The Kills demonstrate with No Wow that they have a wild side beneath the leather jacket.
