Everybody's Talkin

Description

The Tedeschi Trucks Band is an eleven-piece ensemble made up of the group of guitarist-singer Susan Tedeschi and guitarist Derek Trucks. Recognized for its unique blend of rock, blues, gospel, soul, and Americana, their debut album, *Revelator* (2011), earned them the Grammy Award for Best Blues Album in 2012. Since then, they have released four other studio albums and three live albums, of which *Everybody's Talkin'* is their first live release. The tracks on *Everybody's Talkin'* are a compilation of recordings made during three tour dates in October 2011. It features songs from their debut album rearranged, enriched, and extended in the purest tradition of jam bands. However, the band avoids clichés: guitar prodigy Derek Trucks, for example, introduces their hit "Midnight in Harlem" with a slide guitar solo over an Indian raga. Their cover of Stevie Wonder's "Uptight" meanwhile testifies to their passion for soul and jazz. In short, as one critic aptly put it: "Everybody's Talkin' is what every live album should be: a faithful and captivating reflection of a band in top form playing at full throttle."
