Athena addresses the question of duality. Having an identical twin, Sudan Archives has long known the notion of the coexistence of opposites within a single entity. She explores this concept throughout the album, testing the boundaries between good and evil, vulnerability and strength. For Athena, Sudan Archives worked with a group of musicians including producers Washed Out, Paul White (Danny Brown, Charli XCX) and Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, Sampha, Adele).
