Sparks' flagship album, Kimono My House, was released on May 1, 1974, on Island Records and is considered the group's biggest commercial success and one of the most memorable musical releases. Universally acclaimed by critics, Kimono My House gave rise to the group's biggest single, "This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us," which climbed to number 4 on the UK charts at the time. Produced by Mervyn "Muff" Winwood and recorded in the UK with a group of renowned British musicians (Martin Gordon on bass, Adrian Fisher on guitar, and Norman "Dinky" Diamond on drums), the album fits within the contemporary popularity of glam rock, under the electronic and experimental auspices of Roxy Music or David Bowie. Propaganda, released the same year, is also among the group's flagship albums. It notably reached number 9 on the UK charts in 1975. The album includes major singles such as "Never Turn Your Back On Mother Earth," "Something For The Girl With Everything," and "Achoo." It is also the cover, featuring a photograph taken by photographer Monty Coles, that made Propaganda iconic.
