A concentrate of Thrash, Death Metal and Hardcore Punk, 'Arise', released in 1991, is one of Sepultura's most devastating albums. It was also an album of openness, as the tribal rhythms of 'Altered State' foreshadowed a direction the band would later explore.
The 2CD edition features the original remastered album accompanied by 28 bonus tracks, most of which are previously unreleased. These include the industrial remix of 'Dead Embryonic Cells', the working versions of 'Meaningless Movements' and 'Infected Voice', the demos of 'Murder' and 'Altered State', and live tracks from 'Under Siege (Live In Barcelona)', the band's first filmed concert, including 'Arise' and 'Beneath The Remains'.
The double vinyl edition, on the other hand, offers a condensed tracklist: the original remastered album and 10 bonus tracks (common with the 2CD edition).
