A-Lex

Description

Formed in 1984 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Sepultura is undoubtedly Brazil’s greatest musical export, having enjoyed enormous worldwide success throughout its career. During this period, they have released fifteen studio albums and sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. "A-Lex", released in 2006, is the band’s 11th studio album and is based on Anthony Burgess’s novel "A Clockwork Orange" (1982). “A-lex,” Sepultura’s new album, is directly inspired by Anthony Burgess’s novel “Orange Mécanique” (original title: A Clockwork Orange). The title, “Alex,” is in fact a Russian expression that could be translated as: “Without law.” Recorded in Sao Paulo at Trama Studios, “A-lex” features 18 tracks for a total running time of 60 minutes. The first record recorded with the new drummer, Jean Dolabella, “Alex” stands apart from all previous Sepultura releases. The compositions are the result of more than 3 months of jamming during which the band freely gave rein to its ideas.
