Before Death Church, the first two EPs by Rudimentary Peni lay the foundations of a musical language that will leave a lasting mark on British anarcho-punk with its speed of execution, its rhythmic breaks, and the graphic universe of Nick Blinko. Initially brought together in 1987 on the Corpus Christi label, the compilation The E.P.'s Of R.P. includes the band's first EP, recorded in 1981 at Street Level Studios, as well as Farce, released the following year by Crass Records with John Loder on sound engineering and Penny Rimbaud on production. The twenty-three tracks condense a writing style that is both concise and unique, where punk rage intertwines with oblique melodies, an ever-present dark humor, and lyrics of rare intensity. Officially reissued in 2026 by Sealed Records after decades of unavailability and numerous pirate pressings, this edition also restores the abundant graphic work of Nick Blinko through a faithful reproduction of the cover, complemented by a printed inner sleeve and a booklet.
