Monde sensible

Description

Four years after Jungle contemporaine, Mesparrow makes a striking return and gains even more poetry, depth, and density. With this Monde sensible, Mesparrow composes a mischievous map of the emotions, helped by mad scientist arranger Nicolas Bourrigan, bassist of the band Isaac Delusion, and producer Antoine Thibaudeau (Thylacine, Kid Francescoli), who adds his dashing signature to the electronic rhythms. Here, the machines are not cold but enchanted, shifting or flourishing. We find again this constant trait of the singer: that perfect balance between euphoria and melancholy, the organic and the synthetic. One foot on the dance floor (Twist), the other in the cotton field (Saudade). The voice with its cracked gravity flutters about, plays with the pulse. Driven by a liberating force, the thirty-something can allow herself every boldness, even the solemnity of piano and voice in a final confession (Elle rougit). And if we then remember how much she loves Barbara, Mesparrow is above all part of those women who keep chanson from going round in circles.
