Maserati is a band obsessed with process. More specifically, they are obsessed with the process of marrying the past to the future, retro-futurists determined to forge krautrock and classic rock into a single monolithic vehicle. Released in 2015, Rehumanizer was the culmination of this process, a marriage between man and machine that plays like a supergroup made up of Gary Numan, Cluster and Pink Floyd. Recorded and mixed by drummer Mike Albanese - and fully produced by the band in their own studio - it is the first Maserati album completely devoid of collaborations or outside interference. Building their songs little by little - and stripping them back to their simplest elements - Maserati fully embraced technology as a compositional tool. Here, the band takes more risks than ever, experimenting on the fly and incorporating unprocessed vocals for the very first time. To celebrate Maserati’s 20th anniversary, the label Temporary Residence Ltd. has reissued this essential album.
