The rock band Maserati, celebrating 20 years of their career, returns with a new album after five years of waiting. Produced by the band and mixed by Grammy Award-winning producer John Congleton (Explosions In The Sky, Swans, Angel Olsen), Enter The Mirror is Maserati's most compelling blend yet, featuring triumphant guitar melodies, abstract synth-pop, and noise anthems inspired by Wax Trax. The gated reverb drums reminiscent of Phil Collins and the chorus-drenched guitars of INXS have been major influences on Enter The Mirror, combined with increasingly dystopian themes (which, ironically, also massively influenced 1980s pop music and are even more relevant today). In addition to long-time members Coley Dennis, Matt Cherry, Chris McNeal, and Mike Albanese, the Athens, Georgia band is joined by friends and collaborators such as Bill Berry (R.E.M.), Owen Lange, and Alfredo Lapuz Jr. Introspection and loss of control as both positive and negative aspects of modern existence are at the heart of Enter The Mirror. It is Maserati's most effective and cohesive album, a monumental achievement for a band that has faced many challenges over its first two decades and has found the will not just to move forward, but to do so with style and determination.
