Come My Way, the first folk album by Marianne, has been remastered from the original tapes by Grammy-nominated Andrew Batt, who also provided detailed liner notes that Marianne contributed to before her passing in January 2025. Released on the same day as her self-titled pop album, Come My Way is based on tracks from the American folk revival, and the album was born from Marianne's desire to record an album based on the songs she performed in local folk clubs before being signed. The album was produced and arranged by Jon Mark, who would become an important figure in the early part of Marianne's career. He is joined on acoustic guitar by Big Jim Sullivan, one of the most sought-after and versatile session musicians of the 60s, as well as John Paul Jones (later of Led Zeppelin) on bass. On tracks like Mary Ann and House Of The Rising Sun, the trio achieves an often perfect blend of folk revival sound with unexpected jazz touches. Other musical highlights include the title track specially written for the project with Jon Mark, Spanish Is A Loving Tongue by cowboy poet Charles Badger Clark, and Marianne's interpretations of the traditional songs Once I Had A Sweetheart and Fare Thee Well — the latter rivaling Joan Baez's recording. The spoken recordings of Lewis Carroll (Jabberwock) and Full Fathom Five (The Tempest) by Shakespeare are the result of Marianne's work with the Prospect Theatre, a local theater group with which she performed before her career as a performer.
