The new album by Kerala Dust, Violet Drive, is a record deeply affected and influenced by its environment. The band, formed in London in 2016, is now based between Berlin and Zurich, and the three Britons - Edmund Kenny on vocals, keyboardist Harvey Grant, and guitarist Lawrence Howarth - have created a deeply European album, shared between the past and the future, and mixing a wealth of influences. In this spirit, the 12 songs of Violet Drive were built from and around the drums, these amazing and offbeat rhythms define the album. Recorded in two weeks in a studio located in the Alps, just outside Zurich, the drums provide the framework on which the lyrics and arrangements of the album made of blues guitars and hazy synthesizers bounce and give life to the songs.
