Version two discs of the 1996 death/doom masterpiece, marking the 25th anniversary, including the EP Sounds of Decay with a bonus track, as well as a detailed booklet featuring reflections on the album. Katatonia was formed in 1991 by Anders Nyström and Jonas Renkse. Their first album, Dance of December Souls, was released in 1993 and allowed the band to be recognized for its eclectic style of gothic doom/death metal and to join bands like Paradise Lost as one of the most important groups in the genre. Originally released in 1996, the second album Brave Murder Day is a true classic. The primitive structures and melodies give this album an unmatched trance quality, taking influence from the early days of Paradise Lost and forming a completely unique atmosphere. The majority of the vocal tasks were performed by Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth in his death-growl style, while Jonas Renkse delivered the clean vocal passages for which he is known today, on the ethereal track Day. This edition of Brave Murder Day is presented on a double CD with the original album cover design. The edition includes the EP Sounds of Decay plus an additional track, and contains a detailed booklet with a retrospective of the album by Anders Nystrom, with contributions from Jonas Renkse.
