Initially released in 1999, Tonight's Decision marked a major step in Katatonia's evolution. The band's first album with Peaceville Records, it deepened the shift begun on Discouraged Ones, blending metallic melancholy with shoegaze influences. Carried by Jonas Renkse's poignant voice and Anders Nystrom's atmospheric guitars, the album explores inner turmoil and urban desolation with intensity. The track "Nightmares by the Sea" (a Jeff Buckley cover) illustrates the band's openness to new, more intimate influences. Drums by Dan Swano, recorded at Sunlight Studio. New black vinyl edition with half-speed mastering for optimized sound reproduction.
