STRANGE COUNTRY

Description

The Canadian duo brings traditional folk back into fashion with a sublime new album. Strange Country, the new album by the young and talented duo of cousins KACY & CLAYTON. The set of 10 tracks was recorded over seven icy days in Canada, at Ghetto Box Studios, a historic community hall converted into studios. Born of a lifelong relationship, the recording highlights the purity and astonishing beauty of Kacy Anderson’s voice, often compared to that of Sandy Denny of Fairport Convention. Only the hard work of her guitar, Clayton Linthicum’s expert rhythms and vocal harmonies could allow Kacy’s voice to rise ever higher - the result being an extremely satisfying and natural album. Drawing inspiration from the Greenwich Village folk scene and the ancestral music of the Southern Appalachians as well as the British Isles, the songs crafted by the two cousins are steeped in these traditions, paying tribute to them while building their own world within them.
