This edition contains the complete original album Coltrane Jazz (Atlantic SD1354), which was Trane's next album after the remarkable Giant Steps. On most of this album, he was accompanied by the Miles Davis rhythm section, consisting of Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb. All other existing recordings of Coltrane in quartet with Wynton Kelly have been added here as bonuses, including the wonderful "Naima" and a live performance by John Coltrane in Germany in March 1960.
