The fact that JAPAN's album Quiet Life was released in 1979 and 1980 is particularly symbolic for a band that was about to release a glam rock album, and instead produced an album in a completely new style that would define the sound of the 80s. 'Quiet Life' is their third, last, and most successful release on the Hansa Records label. A precursor to the New Wave sound of the new decade, the album would become one of Britain's great classics. 'Quiet Life' is being given an exceptional reissue with brand new remastering of the original album done at Abbey Road, including alternate mixes, B-sides, singles, rarities, and live recordings including the highly sought-after "Lost, Live at Budokan Show" from March 1980, which was previously only available as a 4-track "Live in Japan" EP. This new edition of 'Quiet Life' includes a newly restored original album demo, new liner notes with contributions from band members and the original producer, and rare and unseen photographs and memorabilia. This reissue was made in close collaboration with original band members Steve Jansen and Rob Dean, producer John Punter, and with advice from the band's biographer Anthony Reynolds. In addition to the Deluxe 1LP + 3CD version, 'Quiet Life' is also available on LP and CD.
