The fact that JAPAN’s Quiet Life was released in 1979 and in 1980 is particularly symbolic for a band that was about to release a glam rock record, and that produced an album in a completely new style that would define the sound of the 80s. 'Quiet Life' is Hansa Records’ third, final and biggest success. A precursor to the New Wave sound of the new decade, the album would become one of the great British classics. 'Quiet Life' is the subject of an exceptional reissue with a brand-new remastering of the original album done at Abbey Road, including alternate mixes, B-sides, singles, rarities and live recordings, including the highly sought-after "Lost, Live at Budokan Show" from March 1980, which was previously only available as a 4-track EP "Live in Japan". This new edition of 'Quiet Life' includes a recently restored original album mock-up, new liner notes with contributions from the band members and the original producer, photographs and rare and unseen memorabilia. This reissue was made in close collaboration with original band members Steve Jansen and Rob Dean, producer John Punter and with the advice of the band’s biographer Anthony Reynolds. In addition to the Deluxe 1LP + 3CD version, 'Quiet Life' is also available on LP and CD.
