In the fall of 2012, the band released a preview of their ongoing evolution on the 10" vinyl EP "Delusions of grandeur", which received rave reviews from the alternative press and metal media — the sound of this EP heralded a new beginning; a potential craze for pop songs? This is one of EF's great strengths. They appeal to bearded indie rockers, living room metalheads, and intense-gaze post-rockers alike. They can be both heavy and fragile, and are not afraid to push their own boundaries. "Ceremonies" is once again an expedition into the soundscape that EF evokes with great efficiency. Their love of melody and harmony is alive and well, carried by heavy rhythms, before being scattered into a sonic aurora borealis, with enhanced vocal and orchestral arrangements, including more strings, brass, piano, and even the use of synthesizers. And, once again, with production carefully sculpted by Magnus Lindberg (Cult Of Luna).
