Founded in Brooklyn in 2011, the band DIIV established itself on the US alternative rock scene as a worthy heir to My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive thanks to its atmospheric guitars and abrasive climates in direct line with the shoegaze movement. On 'Frog in Boiling Water', their fourth album, the group led by singer-guitarist Zachary Cole Smith expands its horizons by building their compositions from loops and samples made from cassettes, unusual guitar tunings and raw synthesizers. The result of DIIV's new sonic experiments yields 10 tracks imbued with dreamlike beauty, hope and renewal.
