Oshin (10Th Anniversary Reissue) - Vinyle Marbré Bleu

Description

In 2012, DIIV released their landmark debut album, Oshin. The album was met with critical acclaim and positioned DIIV as a central influence on the sound and aesthetic of the 2010s Brooklyn indie music scene. Having debuted in 2011 as the nom de plume of musical provocateur and frontman of the atmospheric, autumnal quartet, Zachary Cole Smith, DIIV instantly set the blogosphere alight with their impressionistic debut single “Sometime.” DIIV craft a sound that is at once both familiar and chilling and draws inspiration from krautrock stalwarts, the dreamy psychedelia of early Creation Records, and the primitive crunch of the late-’80s Seattle scene. On their debut album, the band crafts a patchwork of underground and classic influences that perfectly marry together. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, this limited-edition double vinyl release combines the Oshin tracklist with the original demos and two live tracks recorded at Brooklyn’s Shea Stadium—including the unreleased track “Yuk.” The deluxe packaging features a die-cut Kraft-paper o-card, clear printed inner sleeve, the album pressed on marbled blue double vinyl, a DIIV “Fuck The World” poster, and a booklet featuring archival photos, reflections from the band, new writing from the poet Madeline Jones, author of the original poem “Oshin,” and commentary by Shaad D’Souza.
