DIIV's cult classic album, Oshin, is back with a completely redesigned cover! DIIV's debut fuses evocation and half-forgotten memory with brilliance, creating a musical universe where old and new intertwine. Songs that remind us of love in all its splendor, its perfections as well as its perversions. The very essence of DIIV was born from Zachary Cole Smith's creative process, who composed these early works in the heart of summer, secluded in a dark, un-air-conditioned corner of a painter's studio in Bushwick. He surrounded himself with tapes and vinyl, from artists such as Lucinda Williams, Arthur Russell, Faust, Nirvana, and Jandek, and writings by N. Scott Momaday, James Welsh, Hart Crane, Marianne Moore, and James Baldwin, and dreams of aliens, affection, spirits, and the distant natural world (as he imagined it from his window overlooking the Morgan L subway line). The resulting music is as cavernous as it is enveloping, inviting you to get lost in its twists and turns in an era dominated by short-form content and endless scrolling.
