Danny Scott Lane is a musician, photographer, and sound artist based in New York, whose work navigates between jazz, ambient, and delicate funk. A former actor and singer before turning to photography, Lane infuses his recordings with a cinematic and emotional sensibility — intimate, tactile music that is subtly surreal. He has composed music for films and advertisements, and his eclectic taste has taken him behind the decks around the world. Since his first cassette release in 2019, Lane has released nine albums, five of which are with WRWTFWW Records, each deepening his unique blend of warmth, rhythm, and reverie. His tenth LP, House of Alice, marks the return of his long-time collaborator David Lackner (for the third time) and introduces Michael Gagliardi, further enriching the introspective universe that Lane continues to build. The album title is inspired by the Alice Austen House. Danny has been interested in the prolific "street" photography of Alice Austen, who skillfully captured everyday life and intimate portraits of women. Inspiring images that also resonate in his own photographic practice. We will continue to stand on the shoulders of giants. Expect a soft blend of new age electronic jazz and muted funk.
