Deutsche Grammophon presents a new album to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Richard Strauss through the recording of Elektra at the Philharmonie in Berlin in January 2014. This is a historic version, since its creation in Dresden in 1909 with the Staatskapelle Orchestra, the work has been recorded only once in 1960 with Karl Böhm and the Staatskapelle on Deutsche Grammophon. This version offers us a dream cast: Evelyn Herlitzius, Anne Schwanewilms, Waltraud Meier, and René Pape, masterfully conducted by Christian Thielemann.
