Description
If Chicha Libre's second album, Canibalismo, is inspired by the explosion of Peruvian chicha in the 70s, it is also influenced by the cultural cannibalism dear to Os Mutantes and other Brazilian tropicalists, as well as the production methods of late 60s rock bands. The group continues to pay tribute to the Amazonian legends Los Wembler's de Iquitos, Los Mirlos, and Manzanita, but also mixes in mellotron and vintage synths, West African guitars, treated percussion, fuzztone, and some arrangements inspired by R.D Burman.
