Lost and Found

Description

Nearly twenty years after the release of the original Buena Vista Social Club album, World Circuit is proud to present Lost and Found, a collection of unreleased tracks, recorded during the legendary original sessions of the Buena Vista “all-stars” constellation: Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén González, Cachaíto López, Guajiro Mirabal, Eliades Ochoa, Omara Portuondo & Compay Segundo, as well as live recordings dating from the same period. The original Buena Vista Social Club album, recorded in 1996 for the World Circuit label by Ry Cooder in Havana, brought together major names from the golden age of Cuban music in the 1950s and enjoyed a resounding success that was as unexpected as it was international, to the point of becoming the most famous album in the history of Cuban music. Other remarkable records followed, as well as a dazzling live album recorded at Carnegie Hall in New York. Buena Vista Social Club became a trademark. The group Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club, which still features several of the original members, continues to tour the world and is set to begin its farewell tour in 2015.
