ROCKABILLY RIOT : VOLUME ONE – TRIBUTE TO SUN RECORDS - VINYLE ROUGE

Description

THE KING OF ROCKABILLY AT HIS BEST! To celebrate the 16th anniversary of Brian Setzer's Rockabilly Riot! Volume 1: A Tribute To Sun Records, Surfdog Records is re-releasing the album as a limited edition 180-gram transparent red vinyl on May 28, 2021. This album focuses on tracks produced between 1954 and 1957. It is a tribute to the biggest names of the era: such as Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, but also sheds light on artists that posterity has overlooked such as Kenny Parchman ("Tennessee Zip," "Get It Off Your Mind"), Carl Mann ("Mona Lisa") or Ray Harris ("Lonely Wolf"). For Tommy Blake's "Flatfoot Sam," Setzer called on The Jordanaires for backing vocals, who also sing on covers of Ernie Barton ("Stairway to Nowhere,") and Charlie Rich ("Lonely Weekends"). Setzer also enlisted Jumpin' Gene Simmons on "Peroxide Blonde In A Hopped-Up Model Ford."
