In 1981, Johan and Guillaume Ledoux, aged 9 and 11, formed the band Zéro de conduite. In 1983, after an improbable meeting on the platform of a train station, Jeffrey Lee Pierce, the singer of Gun-Club, fell for the band and insisted that the four kids play with him at the Printemps de Bourges. They opened for Gun Club and U2! This was followed by dozens and dozens of concerts on both sides of the Atlantic, amazing encounters and collaborations with Joe Strummer, The Inmates, Johnny Thunders, Lords Of The New Church, and Serge Gainsbourg, who collaborated with them on a new version of the sultry "Sucettes à l'anis." In 1990, Guillaume and Johan had grown up and formed Blankass, a true musical melting pot, where the two brothers could mix rock, folk, chanson, electric and traditional instruments; the first single, "La couleur des blés," made it onto all the radio stations. The band was nominated for the Victoires de la musique in the revelation of the year category, and the album sold over 150,000 copies. A tour of 150 dates followed. In 1998, the second album "l'ère de rien," and a new nomination for the Victoires, this time in the Group of the Year category. Blankass then went on to release albums and tours with "l'homme-fleur" in 2003, "Elliott" in 2006, and two years later, "Un concert," the band's first live album, accompanied by a DVD mixing archives, clips, and live performances... In 2012, their album "Les chevals" surprised with a true renewal of the band, blending rock, chanson, and electro, with the energy of a first album. One day, when they were little, Joe Strummer told them: "Don't listen to what adults tell you. Do what you have to do. Rock'n'roll." They ultimately learned the lesson well... Includes all their hits, unreleased tracks, rare songs, and reorchestrations.
