In 2010 Anathema ended a long wait by releasing their sumptuous new album "We're Here Because We're Here" after 7 long years of silence. Their "atmospheric" sound now combines with a strong dose of "progressive," both complex and sensitive. This earned them the title of album of the year from many specialized journalists across the Channel (including the highly respected "Classic Rock"). Also, after this long break, Anathema returned more prolific than ever, offering us a new orchestral reinterpretation of some of their old classics, as on their "Hindsight" from 2008. A preview of the next album! The whole thing was recorded at their home in Liverpool this year and is currently being mixed under the guidance of Christer Cederberg, who will then work on their next studio album. The result will undoubtedly live up to the reputation that Anathema has built over the years.
