The champions of atmospheric pop are back! Since its formation in 1990 in Liverpool, Anathema, while remaining true to its ideals, has embarked on a long musical journey that has seen it emerge as a pioneer of melodic metal to become today the spearhead of an extraordinary atmospheric pop. "Distant Satellites" is the culmination of all the work done by Anathema and as such contains all the elements that have thrilled the band so far. The album was recorded and mixed at Cederberg Studio in Oslo by Christer-André Cederberg and also partly mixed by Steven Wilson. Fans of Anathema, fervent followers whose numbers continue to grow, will inevitably recognize here a new chapter in Anathema's rich musical history, which already spans more than 20 years. Indeed, the Cavanagh brothers continue to enchant us with the talent of their writing through songs crafted by these goldsmiths whose vitality, verve and passion continue to carry them to the pinnacle of their art. This time again, they decided to surprise us by incorporating some more electronic parts into their music while retaining the very essence of the Anathema sound. Note that the limited edition comes in the form of a beautiful digibook with a 24-page booklet and contains a bonus DVD with the 5.1 mix of the album made by Jens Bogren (Opeth).
