A true UFO of the tenor sax, Hank Mobley left his mark on Jazz with the subtle sonic attacks he initiated. Stuck between the gentleness of Stan Getz and the violence of John Coltrane, he outshone many saxophonists with his talent. Recorded in March 1963, this opus was released on Blue Note. Surrounded by Hard Bop giants of the early 60s such as Lee Morgan and Donald Byrd on trumpet, Andrew Hill and Herbie Hancock on piano, John Ore and Butch Warren on double bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums, the saxophone virtuoso delivered an essential album of Jazz and Hard Bop in particular. Rediscover this classic of the genre in a 180-gram vinyl edition as part of the 'Classics Blue Note' reissues.
