The debut album from British rock band Wunderhorse "Cub" is available again in a colored vinyl edition!
Wunderhorse's debut album, Cub, has taken on a life of its own in the 20 months since its release, with sprawling, psychedelic tracks and searing grunge choruses that have ignited Wunderhorse's ever-growing audience. Cub's campaign and the months that followed saw the quartet progress from basements and pubs to Glastonbury's Woodsies tent and a sold-out O2 Academy Brixton.
During the gigantic tour that preceded and followed Cub's release, Slater and his bandmates - guitarist Harry Fowler, drummer Jamie Staples, and bassist Peter Woodin - gradually and naturally became a fully-fledged band, leaving behind Wunderhorse's solo era.
As their audience has grown exponentially, both in size and fervor, and Cub's tracks have become cultural touchstones for their younger fans, it seems harder than ever to remember a time when frontman Jacob Slater thought his career was over before he even reached his twenties.
After burning out as the teenage frontman of the much-hyped but ultimately unhappy punk band Dead Pretties, Jacob retreated to Cornwall to repair the damage he had done to himself.
It was while working as a surf instructor on the UK's southwest coast that Jacob reconnected with his love of writing: this time, he wrote introspective and thoughtful compositions that transcended his younger years and formed the foundations of Wunderhorse.
The band's second album, "Midas," was released in August 2024 to critical acclaim, charting in the UK Top 10, appearing on album of the year lists from DORK, Telegraph, Rolling Stone, NME, and expanding their audience in Europe, the US, Australia, and beyond.
