William Eggleston Releases First Album at 78, Armed With His Trusty KorgWilliam Eggleston, 78, a Memphis native, is best known as one of the most important photographers of the 20th century. Today, he releases his first album via Secretly Canadian. As a child, William Eggleston discovered the piano, secretly improvising on Bach, gospel, and country music. In 1980, Eggleston was fascinated by a Korg synthesizer, which, in addition to its 88 piano keys, contained a four-track sequencer allowing him to further unleash his creativity. The music he refers to with the German term 'Musik' is that of his hero J.S. Bach, a sensitive music from which Eggleston draws inspiration, adding the sounds of his Korg or playing Lerner and Lowe's 'On The Street Where You Live' as an opener. William Eggleston often says that music is his first passion and that it is as much a part of him as photography.FOR FANS OFBach, David Lynch, John Cage, Terry Riley
